Hey there,

My name is Mark Conacher. I am a husband, father of four, soccer fan, entrepreneur, writer and company director, in that order.

I currently live in British Columbia, Canada, having moved here, lock, stock and barrel in 2010 from Scotland.

Starting out as a young man in 1986, I served my time as a joiner and eventually took the plunge to carve my own path, becoming self-employed in 1994 and ultimately formed the kitchen and bathroom installation company, Liberty Fitting Service.

Liberty was incorporated in September 2003 and is now a multi award winning kitchen and bathroom company, winning UK Best Installation Company 2018 (Runner-up 2019- 2022), Scotland’s Best All Trade Company in 2018, runner-up for Best Trades Business (0-10 employees) in Scotland’s North East Trades awards 2019 and Best Home Improvement Company in 2021.

Back in 2010, feeling the urge to try something new, I emigrated with my wife and four children to Vancouver, Canada and with the addition of another director, local to the company in Dundee, I have continued to successfully manage Liberty since this time from my home in Vancouver .

In 2019 I was runner up for the Entrepreneurs Circle – Most Inspiring Business Person of the Year.

In November 2022 I was a winner at The Great British Entrepreneur Awards for the service industry.

It’s been an amazing move and my passion for my industry, my company and the part I play has definitely grown.

Privately, I love nothing more than spending time quality time with my wife and kids, exploring this beautiful place that we now call home.
For my sins, my passion / frustration is football, which has moved from my first love of Dundee United FC to Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
